A DRAFT Restoration Project Selection Procedure (RPSP) has been developed for the Housatonic River watershed in Massachusetts by the MA SubCouncil.  The document will be released for public review and comment on May 2, 2005.  The DRAFT RPSP will be available online at www.ma-housatonicrestoration.org and at public libraries in the towns of Great Barrington, Lee, Lenox, Pittsfield, Sheffield, and Stockbridge shortly thereafter. 

 A public meeting on the DRAFT RPSP will be held:

Public comment is invited at the meeting or in writing.  Comments are due by May 27, 2005.

In accordance with a settlement with the General Electric Co. for PCB contamination in the Housatonic River, the DRAFT RPSP describes the process for the solicitation, evaluation, and selection of compensatory natural resource restoration projects within the watershed.  The development and implementation of the DRAFT RPSP is overseen by state and federal natural resource trustees, ex officio delegates, and private consultants.
