Housatonic River Restoration Meetings to Begin in October

Public input is invited in the development of a Natural Resource Restoration Plan (NRRP) for the Housatonic River watershed in Massachusetts.  The NRRP is being developed by the Massachusetts Natural Resource Damage Trustees SubCouncil (MA SubCouncil) to foster the implementation of compensation for harm to natural resources associated with PCB contamination in the Housatonic River and adjacent areas.  The development and implementation of the NRRP are funded by an October 2000 settlement with the General Electric Company.  The MA SubCouncil is composed of representatives from the MA Executive Office of Environmental Affairs, US Fish & Wildlife Service, and non-profit organizations, with assistance from private consultants.

A series of public meetings will be held at several locations in the Housatonic River watershed.

The first meeting will be held:
